CBD Skincare: The Power of Cannabidiol for Healthy, Balanced Skin

CBD Skincare: The Power of Cannabidiol for Healthy, Balanced Skin

28th Nov 2022

CBD is known for its pain relieving properties, but new research has indicated that this natural compound is incredible for the skin as well. From acne to inflammation, we believe it is one of the best active ingredients to include in your skin care routine and beauty products.

(That's also why we created our own product line around it.)

What Is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound found in cannabis plants. Unlike the more well-known compound THC, CBD does not produce the psychoactive effects that are associated with cannabis use. CBD has been shown to have a number of potential health benefits, due to its interactions with the body's existing endocannabinoid system.

The endocannabinoid system interacts with many other systems in the body; your brain, internal organs, connective tissues, glands, and even your immune system all contain receptors that respond to cannabinoids. As scientists study these systems in the body, one thing becomes increasingly clear - the goal of this system is to help the body achieve balance.

So, what does this mean for your skin? What do CBD beauty products really do?

Benefits of CBD for Skin

There are so many ways that CBD can help you achieve better skin through clean beauty:

  1. Inflammation Fighting - CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid systems in your skin, along with the rest of the body. While CBD oil is known for its anti-inflammatory properties internally, it can also be beneficial topically for inflammation. This makes it an ideal candidate for treating skin conditions such as psoriasis, rosacea, acne breakouts, and more.
  2. Anti-Bacterial - CBD can help fight off the bacteria that make skin conditions worse, and can cause further irritation. This can also help prevent flareups in the future.
  3. Powerful Antioxidant - antioxidants can help with any breakdown of skin cells, which makes CBD a great sidekick for anti-aging, hyperpigmentation, redness, sun damage, and more.
  4. Regulates Oil Production - Good news for oily or acne-prone skin! CBD has been shown in a few studies to reduce the overproduction of sebum, helping it to prevent breakouts before they even start!

These are just a few of the many benefits that science is discovering about CBD. If you want skin that is even, healthy, nourished, and balanced, you want CBD skin care products.

Do CBD skincare products contain THC?

BeMavic CBD products do not contain THC. THC is the psychoactive compound in cannabis that gets users high. CBD, on the other hand, is a non-psychoactive compound that has been shown to have many potential health benefits.

We only use organic broad-spectrum CBD formulas in our products, meaning we are careful not to include any psychoactive compounds. Be aware that "full-spectrum" CBD products CAN contain trace amounts of THC in them, so do your homework if you're shopping around.

What About Hemp Seed Oil?

When looking to add hemp products to your skin care routine, the terminology can get a little confusing. We'll break it down simply for you here:

Hemp Oil - refers to many oils and extracts from the cannabis plant, including seeds, leaves, buds, and more. These products could contain CBD and/or THC in many different combinations and concentrations.

Hemp Seed Oil - is produced from ONLY the seeds of the hemp plant. This oil does not contain CBD or THC. However, it is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids, along with other vitamins, making it very nutrient dense and moisturizing to the skin.

Can I Combine CBD Skin Care With Other CBD Products?

Yes, you can combine CBD skin care with other CBD products, such as oils, tinctures, gummies, and more. In fact, combining different products can help you get the most out of your CBD experience. By using a variety of products, you can customize your experience to better suit your needs. For example, if you want to focus on relaxation, you might use a CBD oil in some calming tea, along with a CBD topical cream. Or if you're looking for better skin, you could take a CBD supplement and use a CBD face cream as well.

There are endless possibilities when it comes to combining products, so experiment and find what works best for you!
